jour no. 6 - Pigalle

Not only are there piles of jazz clubs and other nightlife spots (including some rather risqué establishments), but Pigalle has one music shop after another, selling "hi-fi" equipment, trumpets and tubas, sheet music, and, of course, lots of guitars.

  1. I never thought I could feel this way towards another human being but my husband just sent me a link to your blog and my little heart has already turned into a dark, shriveled mass of pure hatred. How can he do this to me? Oh no, it is not you I hate (ahem) but HIM. He knew I'd want to spen 25 days in PARIS! Eating and spending and brushing up on my French. Oh, the longing...I cannot bear it! Eric Kayser, Rose Bakery, the Monoprix (ok, Bon Marche is my fave)sigh...I will keep reading. And hating. Yeah, you too, missy!

  2. Don't hate me! Will it help if I tell you that I'm very very aware of how lucky I am, and that I'm not taking any of this for granted? And that I ate so many financiers tonight that I feel a little sick?

  3. Ok, fine. I will try to get over it but I am glad you are (were) a little sick from eating financiers because I am quite sick from the vile cherry pie from the office cafeteria that I just scarfed down and from having had to do so at my desk! I should have gone out and fed it to the rodents in front of the White House(no, I don't mean the press corps).

  4. sad to hear about the cafeteria cherry pie... right now, I'm trying to SLOWLY eat the most amazing chocolate bar. It looks like an innocent dark chocolate bar, but then it's really a chocolate shell around some fluffy hazelnut/chocolate filling. Oy.
