jour no. 10 - charade
Question: What could be more satisfying than this: watching Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant banter their way from one iconic Paris spot to another (Les Halles, Palais Royale, un bateau mouche, the Quai), Hepburn in a series of envy-inducing Givenchy ensembles (including a parade of perfect spring coats, with long gloves in various colors), while one sits in a creaky movie house IN PARIS?
Answer: for me, not much.

I came here through Wolcott and have been loving every entry. I never want it to end. With this day, however, my jealousy has definitely reached its apex.
ReplyDeleteI am going to Paris in August (not nearly as nice a month as May, but still) and I will definitely be referring back to this bookmark.
Many thanks for this beautiful blog. It lifts my spirits.
wow, thank you! I'm so glad you're enjoying it. lucky you, to have your trip to look forward to - and in August, you won't have any gray and chilly days like I've had in May.
ReplyDeleteMany years ago we honeymooned in Paris in April. It's a magic city. Even the well- trodden routes of the visitor are special. One of the favorite memories is the climb to the top of the Notre Dame bell tower. I really liked the little islands in the river--some very special little neighborhoods.
